Prof. Dr. Etmont Celiku

He is a distinguished personality, a well-known and talented surgeon, perhaps the best in the Albanian surgical field.
Prof. Dr. Çeliku is the kind of doctor who does not need much introduction, because his name spreads like the wind, through the thanks of patients and their families, throughout Albania.

Prof. Dr. Çeliku completed his studies at the University of Medicine of Tirana with excellent results. Immediately after completing his studies, he continued his specialization at the University Surgery Clinic of QSUT. From an early age, Çeliku distinguished himself as an excellent surgeon, endowed with a special and remarkable talent, highly esteemed by his professors and colleagues.

Indeed, Prof. Dr. Çeliku’s journey as a surgeon began early, already in his third year of university studies, with numerous participations and assistance in surgical operations, alongside the illustrious professors P. Gace, R. Golemi, G. Velcani, etc. His hand was clearly distinguished in cutting, tying, suturing and the finesse of the surgical procedures as a whole. Over time, his working style transformed into… PROF. STEEL SCHOOL…

Dr. Çeliku continued his in-depth studies for years. He initially studied in France and then in Italy, Germany, the United States, etc. With great courage and success he perfected and applied new surgical methodologies at the surgical clinics of the University Hospital.

Prof. Dr. Çeliku’s field of expertise is general surgery, i.e. abdominal organs. He has been the Director of the General Surgery Service since 2008. Thousands of patients have been operated and healed by his golden hands. There are also many patients who have undergone lung, heart, limb, etc. surgeries, when the surgical emergency of the patient required saving a human life.

From the very beginning and currently he continues to work as a lecturer, member of the academic staff of the Medical University and for many years the Director of the Department of Surgery, devoting himself to teaching students, trainees and scientific research. Based on this, Prof. Dr. Etmont Çeliku is the author of textbooks and a large number of articles, presentations, posters, abstracts, presented at conferences and activities at home and abroad.

Being a man with a big heart, Prof. Dr. Çeliku is a colleague, collaborator, teacher and supporter of all the staff he leads. As such, he enjoys the respect and love of them and of all the staff of QSUT and all the places where his name is heard and known.

At the entrance of our YMC clinic, you will meet and read the phrase Surgery is Art. This is the expression and maxim of Prof. Dr. Etmont Çeliku, which guides him in every intervention, in his more than 40 years of activity as a surgeon!
With this motto in the service of life, always nourished by books and knowledge, with a healthy mind and golden hands, Prof. Dr. Steel has worked and continues to work, with an energy that never runs out. Prof. Dr. Etmont Çeliku, ÇELIKUN as everyone knows him, once you meet him, you have a friend forever.

Biography

In 1979 he completed his studies in General Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine in Tirana.

In 1983 he completed his specialization in General Surgery at Mother Teresa University Hospital.

In 1990 he completed his internship in Oncological Surgery at the Regina Elena National Institute in Rome.

1992-1993 Internship in General Surgery at Broussais Hospital, Paris, France.

2000 Emergency Surgery Internship at George Washington University Medical School, DC, USA.

2009 Internship in General Surgery at the Mannheim Clinic, Germany.

Over the years he has presented scientific research at conferences at home and abroad.

Scientific degree

In 2007 he obtained the title of Full Professor of General Surgery.

Over the years, an excellent ability to create and maintain long-lasting, trusting relationships with patients has been observed.
